The
Cloud City EP
I wrote Cloud over Autumn and Winter of 2023. It was a really fast and rewarding process. My favourite part of the creative process was collaborating with my friends Manuela and Mackensie to elevate the songs.
Each song holds a really strong memory or feeling for me. It’s really special when songs can be little time capsules to pull me back to a time or a place or a phase in my life.
The songs capture the fizzy restless energy I felt over the winter and introduced new sonic textures to the (to be) album project, overt loop textures, piano, and more focused vocal sounds.

NZ Musician Cover
As part of this EP release I was on the cover of NZ Musician!
"At only three songs, ‘Cloud City’ is her shortest EP to date.
“I like that kind of like, bite-sized exploration of a theme. Naturally I create shorter, four to six songs of exploring a topic and that feels whole to me. Each EP is not lesser because there’s less of it!”
The EP release formula also fits into an apparently enhanced sense of social timing.
“I can really sense the moment that a song that I write is now in a new era. I’ll be writing for ages and then just one random Tuesday, I write a song and will be like, ‘Okay, everything that comes before that goes together, and this and everything after it, even if the song before was like two days ago.” "
